The Dead Sea really does look like a person...
[Update 9 Jan 2017] I should probably add that what Red Sea says about the origins of its name is made up for the comic. In reality, the origins of the name of the Red Sea is in some dispute. It's a translation from the Greek (Erythra Thalassa), but what the Greeks were referencing is unclear. The most common explanations I've seen are that it may be a reference to reddish-colored algal blooms, or that it is related to a color/direction association, with "Red" associated with "South" and "Black" with "North" (hence, "Black Sea").
